They claim to look out for seniors. Insurance offered thru them via hartford no cheaper! Car no cheaper. Homeowners was over 3 times as high and less coverage!

Mail, mail, mail

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AARP has been deluging me with mail offers for years. 100 % of them have to do with insurance (blech !). I don't like the way these insurance salesmen hide behind the misleading title of American Association of Retired Persons. They (allegedly) used to offer other things as well ; advice on living with the disgusting disability of old age amongst other reasonable topics. Now it's just insurance. No thanks. I'd appreciate it if you'd come and get 15 years worth of mail - it is starting to pile up.

AARP Expedia Travel charges more for car insurance that the actual car rental!!!!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I called Budget early the day of travel to confirm car rental only to be told Budget's insurance coverage is lower that Expedia AARP Insurance fee. I immediately made a call to Expedia AARP to be told to call the Travel Protection Healthline at 855-266-**** myself to cancel.

Finally getting a person at Travel Protection Healthline only to be told that Expedia AARP needs to cancel, they could not cancel as it was the day of my travels.

And the excuse you are giving me is that you could not reach them to even question them about the cancellation is totally ridiculous and unacceptable!

Imagine how I, the customer, felt during the day of my travels to try to cancel the high insurance fee that you say will save AARP members.

I have requested for a Supervisor to give me a call the day of my travels to no avail. I am seeing if they will respond to my email.

I did not want qutomatic renewal. I contacted customer service numerous times, they were rude and outright stated they didn't want to bother helping me Got charged automatically. Lazy & Mean Cust Reps

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I told AARP via phone and via their website several times I did not want automatic renewal. End of year I got a note saying my checking acct is being charged for automatic renewal.

After several calls to cust service I told them to cancel my account with AARP. They promised to refund via same method I paid them (charge was made from my bank account same day they said they were renewing me). After a month I got nothing back. I contacted cust service again the lady said it would be an ACH refund.

Checked with my bank no refund ever processed. Called AARP again now they say it is a paper "echeck" issued a month ago but I never received. Customer rep (who had been the third in a string of all rude, mean and lazy reps I had spoken to) said simply she was forwarding it to someone else because she didn't want to deal with it?? WTF?

Unbelievably BAD customer service all ways around, how do they hire people like this? Over a month and I'm still wasting time trying to get a $16 fee refunded. I just want to see if they ever intend to refund this or are going to lie to me until I give up??

AVOID AARP at all costs! Rudest Cust Reps EVER!!!

Return my money to someone not payor

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I initiated a insurance contract for my illiterate brother, became his payor and owner and he had total control over the contract that was paid by me. For a year all money came out of my bank that I gave a voided check to start the contract.

My name, my address, my account # on the check. He was able to cancel insurance cause they wouldn't let me stop the way of payment. They sent him a refund of $27.40 to his home when it's my money. They bait and switched the contract while a paid his life insurance for a entire year.

It cost me approx. $364.50 and I want my money back. I paid $16.00 so my brother could be a member. I was an AARP member for over 20 years.

My husband until his death. I was scammed. They wasted this insurance I thoughtfully paid for.

Told me to ask my brother for my money. Really!

I called to ask why I keep getting renewal reminders when I paid 3 months ago--and, incidentally, why I never received the promised tote bag. How can AARP not verify a membership??

I'm done with these people:

Chat started at 11:47 AMChat started with AprilHi Phillip, thanks for using AARP Chat. Would you please allow me a few moments to review your request?I apologize for the renewal offers. The mailings are pre printed and automated and take up to 4 weeks to stop if you just renewed, did you recently renew?

April

11:48 AMYes, in October 2021, chk#2438 for $16

11:49 AMDo you mind if I take a look at your membership? To locate may I have your name and address including your zip code?

Aprilok, also see why I never received toteThat info is on record, I won't enter it here

11:51 AMI apologize but I am unable to see it. No worries. If you like you can call in at 1-88*-***-****, may I assist you with anything else today?

11:52 AMThose mailings might also be from the AARP foundation and not membership.

April

11:53 AMWhat does "no worries" mean?

This is turning into a runaround waste of time. I don't care if membership lapses and won't pay for a CS (haha) call

I apologize, no worries means I can understand that you choose not to provide your information here, however without it I cannot locate and verify your membership, My apologies for any misunderstanding or inconvenience.
